I’m Ready For My Close Up

An Important Thing for a Wedding (and something that I LOVE): The Photographer

As soon as Jonathan proposed I knew the photographer that I wanted to take  photos for the wedding, Andres Valenzuela. He took photos of my friend’s wedding a few years ago and I loved them. He was just starting out then but you can totally see that he had an amazing eye for it. Now he and has wife and baby girl are focused on having their business expand. As soon as the date was set, I was sending him an email asking him if he was available. SUCCESS! He was!

We met on Skype, I used my cute look to win over Jonathan and the deal was done. 🙂 (Not that Jonathan really had to be won over, it was just I was set on Andres & I wasn’t willing to go for anyone else and poor Jon had not really seen any of Andres’ work.)

Now I’ve heard so many different things about the importance of a photographer that it’s making my head spin. Some people say it’s the most important thing, while others say that the videoagrapher is more important. Blah, blah, blah.. I say “NEY!” Photos are important to me. Unfortunately, our budget won’t allow for both so we’re going with the photos.

One of the great thing about Andres is that an engagement session is included in the wedding package. So on one very cold & wet weekend in March Jonathan and I snuck into NY to get our engagement shots done (try to plan the wedding as much as possible) and lets just say we’re super happy the way they came out.  See!

Like I said, he’s amazing! This is just a snippet of what he did for us. If you go to his blog, you can see some of the other shots that he took, and of course you can go around his blog to see some of the other engagement and wedding sessions he photographed. They’re awesome!!

So one of the major pieces for a happy wedding is in, now off to figure out the rest of this party.
